Small Group Ministries
New small groups for spring 2008
Support group for parents of young children
Description: Raising children takes all of our patience, understanding and love. The task, while greatly rewarding, is also all encompassing. It helps to know that others are going through similar trials and tribulations. This group will serve as a network for ideas, and we will encourage one another in an environment where we are free to share our frustrations and our joys. Anyone who still has a child at home is welcome to join us and babysitting will be provided.
Group size: 6-12
Schedule: First meeting Monday, Feb. 4, 6:00 - 7:00 pm

Lectio Divina
Description: Lent is around the corner, and for many people, this is a time for introspection and spiritual renewal. A short passage of scripture is the focus for each meeting, during which individuals who are gathered will meditate on this scripture and share their reflections as is comfortable.
Group size: 4-12
Schedule: Two different gathering times on Mondays, beginning Feb. 11 continuing through March 10: 12:00 noon and 5:15 pm. The group usually lasts about 45 minutes.

Cell Group
Description: A small group gathered expressly for the purposes of spiritual growth and mutual ministry. This year’s pilot cell group will include members of the small group ministries planning team.
Group size: 7-10

Support group for family members impacted by addiction
Description: Is your gambling or other addiction affecting your family relationships? Are you affected by a family member’s addiction? If so, come for an informal and confidential meeting that will discuss ways of coping. You will be welcomed with encouragement and understanding.
Group size: unlimited
Schedule: Second and fourth Wednesdays of each month, 1:15 - 3:00 pm

Preventive Maintenance
Description: A workshop for married couples intended for marriage enrichment, relationship “maintenance” and fun!
Group size: unlimited
Schedule: Three Wednesdays evenings, April 30, May 7, 14, 5:30 - 7:30 pm

Gulf Coast mission trip
Description: A team of adults will travel to New Orleans to spend a week doing reconstruction work, helping in the ongoing rebuilding process after hurricane Katrina.
Group size: 8 (or 16, if there are more who want to participate)
