The reopening committee has made the recommendation for people to not attend Sunday Services effective immediately. With this recommendation for the church as a whole as well as with discussions with leaders in our church, no in-person youth programming will occur until further notice.
This is a temporary precaution to help ensure safe practices throughout the church. I am heartbroken that we must take this pause, but am hopeful that by having these measures now, we can more safely gather in-person at a later date.
The Spiritual Growth and Programming board and I are still working together to plan some fun events in the coming months (a build-your-own pizza party and Super Bowl Subs for example!) and I will hold virtual office hours weekdays from 1pm-5pm, so please call or text me if you have any questions or needs!
I want to challenge you and your family to do an activity that I myself am working on being consistent with: practicing gratitude! Some days, my gratitudes are easier to come by, such as being thankful for delicious ice cream. On other and tougher days, it takes me a while to recognize something that I am grateful for. Sometimes, these gratitudes can be as simple as being thankful for a blanket to keep me warm. Big or small, gratitudes can help us to remember what joy can feel like, and can help us to reframe our situations to feel more manageable. I hope you will join me on this journey to challenge yourself!
Praying for safety for you all!

SAFE CHURCH POLICIES AND PROCEDURES
We are in the process of creating, adapting, and publishing Safe Church Policies and Procedures to detail information on steps FCUCC takes to prevent child abuse, train staff and volunteers, and respond to violations. Fortunately, this not in response to an incident, and instead a proactive approach to ensuring the safest possible environment for our youth!
